Installing The Strike Force Zebra Half Doors (2007-2017 JK 2-Door) On Jeep Wrangler

The Strike Force Zebra Half Doors (2007-2017 JK 2-Door) On Jeep Wrangler

These are for those of you looking for a half door on your JK so that you have better visibility when you're on the trail, or just more of an open feeling while you're driving down the road, without having to purchase a steel half door. Today we're gonna talk through the installation of these doors which is a very simple one out of three wrench install.

The first time you install these, putting the mirrors in place might take you a little bit longer than every time after that, but from there it's really just a matter of popping the doors on and off very simply just like you would a factory door, and we'll talk more about that installation in just a second. The benefits of something like this over a steel door is, one, it's going to be a significantly lighter than a steel door. Two, it has built-in storage on the inside of the door which is a really nice feature.

And three, this is an impact-resistant plastic, so if you are doing some hardcore wheeling and getting in some off-camera situations, you might catch a rock to the door. This may get a little bit of damage on it, but you're not going to dent and break a much more expensive and painted metal door. So that's where these really fall into place in my opinion. Now, these are going to be more expensive than a two-door, less expensive than a factory steel door, so they fall right in the middle there.

But again, they do have some features that make them worth the money if you have the budget for them. As far construction goes, like I said before, these are a lightweight molded thermoplastic material that have been UV-treated, so these aren't going to fade in the sun over time they're going to stay nice and black. These have an OEM style hinge which makes the install very simple, they're just going to drop right into the hinge that's on the tub of your jeep already. Of course they have a built-in latching mechanism that's also lockable. And you might be saying, why do I need a lock? these half doors don't have uppers. If you're going to be able to very easily reach where you climb over top if you really wanted to get in my jeep.

Well, the lock is really to keep the door on the jeep. It's something that is lightweight, it's very easy to just open the door and lift them off. Even if you were to attach the nuts on the door hinges, those can be very easily removed. So the lock makes it much more difficult for someone to walk away with your doors. So that's the construction itself, these also have some weather stripping on the inside of them, which make them seal up very nice and tight.

The Strike Force Zebra Half Doors (2007-2017 JK 2-Door) On Jeep Wrangler
You're not going to get any whistling from wind. You're not going to get any water in between the door and the tub. They're gonna to seal very well, and like I said before, on the inside of this dooryou do have a good bit of storage which is something you're not going to get with a factory door. Now, these are going to be less expensive than steel, but they're also a very expensive door, and there are a couple areas in the mold where I'd like to see a little bit more finish.

Now, this is really just around the latching mechanism here. It's not something you're going to see when the door is closed, but for my money, I'd like to see every detail taken care of, and that's one area where these ones lack just a little bit. But again, this is a unique piece, it's still, I think, a pretty fair price for all of the quality and the features that you're getting, just one area I wanted to point out.

So to get these installed, you are going to have to remove your factory doors first, and that process is pretty much just unplugging the wiring harness to the door, removing the limiting strap, and then removing the retention nuts if you still have them in place before lifting the door off of the hinges. Now when you have that limiting strap removed be very careful up front. That door can hyper-extend, and if it does the mirror will dig out. It's a very common dimple for a lot of JK's to have, so be very careful, the second you release that limiting strap make sure you keep a hand on the door.

Don't let it swing all the way open. Once you have your door removed, you can remove your factory mirror. Go ahead and install it on your new half door. Set the half doors on the factory hinges. Attach the limiting strap that they come with. Again, same issue comes into play there. So use that limiting strap right away. If you wanna put the factory retention nuts back on these hinges, you can do that. If you're going to be switching doors back and forth a lot, you don't need to.

And then you just close the door, get in the jeep and go. Very simple install, it's just like taking your factory doors on and off, which again is very, very easy. So these are going to run you right around $ 700 for a pair. $ 1400 if you have a 4 door JK and you're looking for a full set. So these are certainly not an inexpensive option. If you're looking for something less expensive, you can get a two-door or a two door with a door skin on it, which is gonna give you a similar feel to this, not exactly the same but be a lot less expensive.

This is going to be for those of you that aren't looking to spend the money on a steel door, that want an impact resistant plastic door, lightweight, that has storage built into it, and has the budget for these. Again, these aren't going to be for everyone, because they are a little bit expensive, but I think they do have some nice features that make them worth the cost.

2012 Porsche Cayman R Specs, Reviews, Walkthrough

2012 Porsche Cayman R. When ignition advances, intelligence stalls. Not a 'Vette, but a Porsche Cay-Man. I'm impressing my Bumble plus one. Not a 'Vette, but a Porsche Cay-Man. The Porsche Cayman is a car that you should probably be smarter about driving. And yet, it's a car that's like one of those bad influence friends you've had, who makes a scene to force you to step outside your comfort zone. I guess some people find empowerment in making other people feel awkward.

For me, that was Jacob 4-Flush-Magush, whose turds were so buoyant he's probably wasted more water on an average dump than half of every shower you've ever taken. Anyway. This Cayman rocks the 3.4 liter naturally aspirated flat six. Like a Subaru boxer engine! But without a turbo and two more cylinders because you can only wade so far into the Subaru waters before becoming consumed. You don't drive Subaru You pledge Subaru! And you get your dick hard for Rush Week! John's Cayman and makes 300 horsepower to the wheels on a six-speed manual transmission.

Yes, there's the PDK. I know, the 7-speed that goes faster and features paddle shifters, but as John relates it's not just the same experience. And that's because John has tailored a very specific kind of experience for his Cayman. This Cayman is heavily modified with Fab speed cat-less race headers, a pro-tuned valvetronic exhaust system Sebro slotted rotors, Faribault brake pads, (I'm mispronouncing this crap), stainless steel brake lines, and GT3 brake master cylinder. I guess is not that modded as I thought it was. While this Cayman could probably use more camber up front, at least according to Johnthat's probably the worst of its issues. It's exactly the kind of Cayman that you'd expect to find in a place [ugly angelic voice] like this. This place is Candy Land.

This was like that scene where Charlie first enters the garden of the Willy Wonka's place except, it's filled with all manners of cars I can use to make STEF SHRADER JEALOUS. You see John is Fab speed's Porsche specialist and he fell in love with this Cayman by proximity sort of like Jim and Pam, or Amy Rose and lonely gamer boys. While interviewing John, I learned that he considers this to be the best handling car he's ever driven. Which is saying a lot when you consider the kind of cars he has access to here. John has done auto cross for about ten years and he claims the rotation on tracks in this Cayman is incredible.

I wouldn't really know because we didn't take this out on a track because I've never been on a track yet before but getting it out on residential roads told me that John isn't kidding. The sensation of accelerating a Cayman R in the middle of a corner is like being in a hall without a hall pass. You're getting away with danger. The Cayman R is the official car of getting away with it but feeling slightly guilty. You keep expecting Johnny Law to come zooming around the corner at any moment and it doesn't help that these exhausts are loud. Even though you're not really breaking the speed limit, you look and sound like you are. Like you're tearing ass even when you aren't Like you're waiting for the other shoe to drop, but it never does. You simultaneously are having a blast while also feeling uncomfortable about how much fun you're having in public.

Maybe it's a by-product of having an uncommon job but I can't help feeling that I'm constantly generating discomfort for other people. And when you get that in your head, there's also a nagging secondary concern that it's only a matter of time until someone decides that this isn't your day. But for a brief spell, the Porsche Cayman lets you forget about all that. Yes, as with anything else you're self-conscious about, all those nagging doubts are going to be the rebut some cars can temporarily make you forget all that baggage. The trick is you have to let them do that and you have to get over the Porsche name to be able to enjoy one. Porsch-uhhh: Your success is preventing mine! And that's a loser's lullaby. A Cayman is a car your Bumble date hopes you'll roll up in.

Drive one of these and you're way, way more interesting than Joe Corvette. What do you do? asks your date girl. (And let's be honest: if you date a guy, he's just going to look at your Porsche and say Niiiice!) But if you date... If your lady date sees it, she's going to ask What do YOU do? And this isn't a... Well, it is a sexist jokeHell me. And guilt creeps in because you feel you're not as successful as your date thinks you are. Used Caymans... Used BASE Caymans hover around $20,000 in Pennsylvania. To put that in perspective late-model used Subaru Outbacks cost more than $20,000. And those Brodozers are like $40,000 - $50,000. But in the commonwealth's eyes, you're still rich in a car that costs less than a new Ford Taurus. Oh, Oh, and you can never race a Corvette in a Cayman Especially if it's on your back-road terms where the Cayman has the advantage.

2012 Porsche Cayman R

Oh, and you have to let the Corvette win. You have to let the Corvette win because THAT car represents the previous generation slooooowly sinking into their regretful hospital beds, like Maurice Fischer. A long, booming life of influence: important, influential, and deserving of genuine respect. But also: how long can you keep, Corvette guys-retelling that same story? The same sounds, the same burnouts, and the same satisfied beer belly pat. How long do we have to listen to your patriotic lullabies? I dunno! But you're still in control, Corvette. Your drivers vote in the greatest numbers and we need to keep you happy for our own safety.

So, the Cayman driver WILL lift off the throttle and let the 'Vette win. Again. Even though the Cayman is the superior production sports car in every sense but displacement. So let the 'Vette win because the risks are too great. It comes down to this: If a Porsche Cayman driver loses a race... They'll just go buy more polo shirts. But, if a Corvette driver loses a street race... They call the cops. As weeks went by She doubted it was Corvette I told her, Dear, I swear this is the the truth, but... She found out and I browned out Cause I was tiiiired... Of trying.

Reverse Leveled 2015 Chevy Silverado 1500

2015 Chevy Silverado 1500

Hello guys, today we brought you back CO24. If you remember, this is our black Chevy 1500 that had the 24-inch wallers and some Atturos. We swapped it out with a set of 12-wides to see how the fitment is because we keep seeing people that are saying these fit. Let's go see if that's true.

Mean trucks decked out Rollin' through the wood and they flexed out Rims so big and the windows black Got the light bar lit up double chromed out stacks Yeah we love to get 'em dirty but still they so clean Custom Offsets team stance is the team We on top of it now we ain't never gonna fade So you better get ready we're taking over the game.

So, if you remember, or if you haven't seen this truckI'll kind of go through it again. It's gonna have a stock frontand then back here, what we did iswe went in and took out the stock block that creates the, um, break in the vehicleso we just went in there and took that block outtighten the U-bolts back down, there's plenty of threadtread, thread, thread on there to do thatand that basically, it's called a reverse level. It levels out the truck, but it's by going down in the backnot going up in the front. Then what we didso you're running stock suspension up frontthen what we did is a 20 by 12 negative 44.

Gear alloy, big blockand that's a negative 44so you'll see with the build testshe's just over six inches, about six and a quarterso it's got a nice big fat lipand the big blocks are really good at thatgetting the most out of their lip. And pretty much all the gear wheels are focused andnice big fat lips on those wheels. So, that oneyou can seeis wrapped by a Nitto 420Sand that's gonna be a 305-50which is basically a 32 by 12. So because you have this 12-wideon this 12 and a half, you'll see that stretchso if you check out from that anglage in hereyou'll see it's really stretched out on there. And that gives you that more sportyrace truck stretch lookon that Nitto 420.

2015 Chevy Silverado 1500

Now, with that 12-widedid you just kind of look down the side of it? If you look down the side of ityou'll see that she's sticking out quite a bit because you got that 12-wide and that 420so you're out there probably about 3 inches. It looks pretty cool, I meanit's a little too street for me with that kind of balloony side wall tirethat's just not my stylebut the fitment was surprisingly close, sowhen we crank the wheel, you'll see where it's wearing herebecause I just let her go ahead and slideyou'll see it's wearing out a pocket back there. You could do a mini Norcal, and get away with itwhere it wouldn't rub then, but the rub doesn't bother meso I just left it, and up front it clears.

I think it just barely touches right there and just moves that flap out of the way. So for the people asking, Could you drive it? Could you daily drive this setup? You absolutely can. You can't get a full crankbecause you'll hit on that side like I saidbut you can definitely drive aroundI've been driving around like this for a little while. You guys can go check out CO24 to see that we did the wrapping of the grille and handles and some of the window tint and lower banner and all that stuffbut we're going to actually be switching back to the dub-waller setup, so this is 24 by 10dub-wallerand what we're going with is a 305305-35 R24 Nitto Terra Grapplerto get a little more tractionthis is my vehicle I use for all sorts of thingsincluding leaving the roadway sometimes.

So I wanted to have something a little more traction if you check that out, that Terra Grappler is quite a bit more aggressive than like a Nitto 420or the Atturo street tire we had on there, so. That's the setup we're gonna go with and then I can come back and do a spotlight and give you that full overview once we get those slapped on there. So that is a spotlight of CO24. CO20 about to be CO24 again. Peace.
